IMac aluminum desktop or MacBook Pro?

I can replace my very old PC from 1998. I decided to go Mac I use my computer for photos and a small photo business, e-mail, documents, but not for my daily work. I have the intention to use it mainly for documents, writing a blog, and maybe in the future, a business plan to start. Desktop or laptop do you recommend?
