The first step is always for a point and shoot. Well the person wants a good picture, but not in the lens and several others. The second is a digital SLR, which will include glass and fast shutter remvable. I own a DSLR and not change it for anything. I have a Sony Alpha 300 … I bought a couple lenses too. While photography and want to participate in different styles and such, then a digital SLR is a better investment.
